At Football Ticket Pro, we’re all about making the fan experience smoother — not just for buying tickets, but now, for consuming awesome content. As our social video strategy expands, especially across TikTok and Instagram, we faced a classic challenge: generating fresh, engaging video scripts week after week.
So we built an automation.
And not just any automation — a modular, feedback-driven Make.com scenario that turns a single idea into a polished, editor-ready video script. It integrates OpenAI, Slack, Google Sheets, and Perplexity AI to keep humans in control while automating the heavy lifting.
Here’s an inside look at how we built it (and how you can do it too).
We focused on automating one type of content — say, a “Fun Fact Friday” video or a “Club-Specific Travel Guide” — and built the entire Make.com scenario to support it end-to-end. Once finalized, this flow can be duplicated and tweaked for other formats with zero code changes.
A manual or scheduled start (weekly drop, anyone?) kicks off the process. Simple. Predictable.
We use a fixed prompt to generate 5–10 high-potential video topic ideas. Think “Best resale prices for Premier League matches in 2025” or “What it costs to follow your club to every away game.”
Each topic pings Slack with Approve / Reject buttons. You decide what’s worth pursuing — no guessing.
Approved topics run through a structured research prompt to get factual, engaging context.
We then send the same topic to Perplexity AI for a second, reliable research layer — a double-check and a variety booster.
Both research sources are saved side-by-side in a pre-formatted Google Sheet. Raw but valuable.
We feed OpenAI both sources using a custom prompt, producing a clean, unified research summary — the perfect base for scripting.
The merged summary hits Slack again, with:
Human input, AI-powered output.
If feedback is given, we re-run the merge with your notes. Slack confirms when it’s ready again.
OpenAI delivers five potential video hooks, tailored to the topic and final research.
Slack buttons let you choose the strongest opener. Done in seconds.
With hook + research in hand, OpenAI generates:
Each block is its own column in Google Sheets, ensuring total flexibility.
You get the full script back in Slack. Want to tweak just the CTA? You can.
When it’s perfect, hit and it’s sent to your editor — via Slack or a shared Google Doc.
Scalable foundation: Duplicate the scenario to generate other types of content (e.g., Reviews, Memes, Guides).
We’re delivering this as a full Make.com buildout, complete with:

This project is more than an automation — it’s a content creation co-pilot. By combining GPT-4’s creativity with Perplexity’s factuality, Slack’s feedback power, and Sheets’ structure, we’ve created something any content or ops team would love.
If you’re juggling TikTok, Reels, or Shorts content with tight timelines and limited creative bandwidth — this is how you scale it without burning out your team.
